The Children’s Centre nurseries are both based in Douglas and have bright and cheerful indoor rooms with age appropriate toys and activities for your children to enjoy. There is also a nursery based in Ramsey.

Park Road has extensive indoor play space and the Woodbourne Road nursery has a spacious and secure garden to explore and play in.

The Children’s Centres’ nurseries in Douglas, Isle of Man will ensure that your child’s happiness is their first priority.

Any parent will tell you that their most prized possession is their child. The Children’s Centre understand this, and aspire to provide a nursery school environment that is joyful and fun whilst at the same time stimulating and supportive for each child entrusted into their care.


Within the nurseries the children are grouped into departments according to their age:

Baby Department

  • Birth to two years (under 18 months, babies are at Park Road Nursery)



  • Department 1 – aged two to three ½ years



  • Department 2 – aged three ½ to five years


Learning is key, so from birth to five years children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and The Children’s Centre staff team offer opportunities to experience and enjoy all forms of play and learning. The staff are all highly trained and dedicated child care professionals with qualifications from NNEB and CACHE. The team of 16 staff have between them over 150 years service for The Children’s Centre based on the Isle of Man, demonstrating that this nursery will provide your child with the support and stability that they need during their early years.

The Children’s Centre prides itself on real partnerships with parents and you can expect regular updates through daily slips, newsletters, parents’ evenings and annual surveys. Parents are also encouraged to have involvement by attending annual events such as open days, sports days and nativity plays.

After School Clubs

Sometimes it’s hard for working parents to arrange cover for their children after school hours, so The Children’s Centre After School Club is a fun place for your children to go while you are in work giving you the peace of mind they are having fun while being cared for by professionals.

They offer opportunities for primary school aged children to experience real play, where imaginations can run riot and fun can be had with friends. You will have the confidence that your child is being cared for at The Children’s Centre’s After School Club in Douglas, Isle of Man.

The After School Club is open daily, during school term time, from 3.15pm to 5.45pm. Children can be collected from their primary schools (within the Onchan and Douglas area) by either walking bus or minibus. Parents and guardians are also welcome to drop off their children at the centre on Woodbourne Road in Douglas, Isle of Man.

The Centre offers two indoor play areas – one for under eights and one for over eights – because age matters. There are craft areas, a kitchen for baking and preparing snacks and plenty of room for dressing up and role play. The spacious gardens provide ample space to run around, and a wide variety of play equipment gives children the freedom to explore and play with confidence.

Real play opportunities are provided by a team of dedicated and CACHE qualified Playworkers. The After School Club is registered and regularly inspected by staff from Social Service’s Registrations and Inspections Unit.


Holiday Clubs

Holiday Clubs based in both Douglas and Ramsey run all the way through the school holidays (except between Christmas and New Year) with wonderful activities for all age ranges.
