Three Trapped In Car Crash

This was the scene as emergency services worked to rescue casualties trapped in an overturned car.

The incident happened at just after 9.20pm last night on the Creg ny Baa Back Road.

Police, fire and ambulance crews attended following a 999 call about a car on its side with three people trapped.

When firefighters arrived, two casualties were still inside the vehicle, the third having been removed by paramedics.

Crews stabilised the car before using hydraulic cutting equipment to remove a section of the roof to create space for the remaining casualties to be removed.

Paramedics were inside the vehicle during operations, supporting the casualties, and under their instruction both casualties were removed and passed to their care.

The road was closed during the incident to allow emergency services to work safely.
