Lezayre Parish Commissioners have created a memorial tree planting on Sulby Claddagh to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
A total of 23 oak trees have been planted, which represent the 23 fallen men named on the war memorial at Lezayre Church.
A memorial plaque has also been commissioned.
An opening ceremony took place at Sulby Claddagh on Thursday last week.
Pupils from Sulby School were involved in the event by tying name tags to each tree.
The opening ceremony was attended by pupils from the school as well as the Ayre and Michael constituency’s two MHKs, Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan and Tim Baker.
