Local Man Charged With Knottfield Child Abuse Offences

An 82-year-old man has been charged with historical child sexual abuse offences.

The allegations relate to the Knottfield children’s home and date back to the 1970s and 1980s.

Detective Inspector Neil Craig confirmed that following a police investigation, an 82-year-old local man will appear in court, on a date to be set.

He said this was in relation to ‘several indecency offences which are alleged to have been committed at the former Knottfield children’s home in Douglas during the 1970s and 1980s’.
